Please be aware that the unprecedented increase in the number of patients attending phlebotomy has resulted in long waits for the patients and crowding of the waiting areas. In the current circumstances, the crowding together of numerous people, many of whom will inevitably be in high-risk categories, clearly presents a significant risk to everyone involved.
Please note that both North and South Wing phlebotomy services are currently operational and the opening times are as follows:
South Wing: Monday – Friday 08:30 – 16:30
North Wing: Monday – Thursday 08:30 – 16:30
The busiest times are between 08:30 and 13:00. Currently the afternoons are much quieter, so pleased be advised that waiting times are much less in the afternoon and that North Wing is operational.
Patients are also attending the department without a pathology request form. Phlebotomy staff are unable to print these forms, so please ensure that you are bringing the appropriate paper request form given to you by your practice.
